🔬 New hot spot for hydrogen research: At the newly opened electrolysis test centre at Graz University of Technology, green hydrogen will be produced with a total capacity of 1.6 to 2.5 megawatts. The new state-of-the-art facility of Technische Universität Graz (TU Graz) has been built to develop and test hydrogen technologies on an industrial scale.🏢 The test centre includes a 250-square-metre area with electrolysers that together offer a capacity of 1.6 to 2.5 megawatts. A special transformer station ensures a steady supply of electricity, allowing the production of up to 50 kilograms of green hydrogen every hour. The hydrogen is stored in an 18-metre-high tank and sent through a 315-metre-long underground pipeline to different research institutes across the campus. This set-up enables researchers to test the next generation of large engines, turbines, hydrogen burners, and fuel cell stacks under real-life conditions.🧪 With more than 250 researchers working at the hydrogen campus, TU Graz now ranks third in hydrogen research across Europe, according to rector Horst Bischof. The university aims to become the number one in Europe and to achieve global recognition.__________________________Enjoyed this Post? After three decades of dedicated service to NXP, Kurt Sievers has announced his intention to retire at the end of the year. NXP’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved Rafael Sotomayor to succeed Kurt as President, effective 28 April, and as President and CEO, effective 28 October. Until then, Kurt will continue to lead NXP as CEO. NXP’s board recognizes Rafael as the ideal successor to help the company become the leader in bringing intelligent systems to the edge in the Automotive and Industrial & IoT end markets. Since joining NXP in 2014, Rafael has served in a broad set of strategic leadership roles. Upon his appointment to NXP’s Management Team in 2020, Rafael has been an integral part of creating and shaping NXP’s strategy and enabling the company’s success. Most recently, Rafael spearheaded the announced strategic acquisition of Kinara Inc., which will enhance NXP’s leading processing portfolio with cutting-edge NPUs and AI software. Adding Kinara’s AI capabilities to NXP’s broad intelligent edge portfolio creates a scalable platform for new classes of AI-powered systems that will help customers simplify complexity, accelerate time to market, and enable intelligent edge solutions across the Industrial, IoT and Automotive end markets. The world’s largest industrial and IoT players are leading in their segments thanks to NXP’s Secure Connected Edge business built by Rafael, leveraging our ability to help end customers solve their most pressing challenges in a highly competitive global marketplace. As President, Rafael will expand his business, operational, R&D, and sales responsibilities, as part of a well-planned succession through the end of the year.Read more in the press release here: #WeAreNXP #BrighterTogether
