About AutoLab
AutoLab’s vision and mission is to advance automation technology in such a way that production remains feasible even in high-wage countries like Austria, thereby securing jobs and industrial value creation. AutoLab stands for innovation and openness in collaboration with everyone involved in modern production – from the workbench to the cloud.
Our core competencies include testing technology, image processing with artificial intelligence, and modern software development to shape the industry of tomorrow. Our solutions provide added value across industries, especially where high quality standards and efficient production of large quantities are required.
AutoLab was founded in 2021 as a spin-off of PMT Holding and combines solid industrial experience with state-of-the-art software development. The result is proven automation solutions in the fields of testing technology, image processing, and control system development. Achievements include one of the world’s fastest testing machines for 100% inspection of parking sensor housings, as well as AI tools for image processing. These AI tools in particular have attracted broad interest and have already been the subject of national media coverage.
The company is located in the EBS Center on the Inffeldgasse campus in Graz, an innovation cluster for Electronic and Software Based Systems with direct connections to research and academia. As a technology-oriented company, we are part of a dynamic environment that actively promotes and drives innovation in electronics, sensor technology, and computer science.
Projects
The company develops high-performance testing systems for industrial mass production. Outstanding projects include a modular high-speed testing machine for end-of-line inspection of parking sensor housings, with cycle times starting at one second per component.
Another highlight is the automated surface inspection of rain sensors using AI-supported image processing to detect the finest defects. These inspections are enabled by AutoGo Vision – an AI platform for industrial image processing that combines openness, flexibility, and user-friendliness. Images can be captured, labeled, and trained directly – without requiring expert knowledge. The resulting model is stored in an open format, remains entirely in the customer’s possession, and can be freely used on any system. A generic PLC interface and a compact IPC solution enable precise real-time results and eliminate the need for closed, proprietary systems.

Collaboration with SILICON ALPS
For us, networking is at the core, because true innovation only emerges through open exchange of ideas. Especially in the interdisciplinary field of automation technology, this dialogue is crucial to grow together and develop future-proof solutions.
SILICON ALPS creates great value for us primarily through targeted networking, as it significantly facilitates the exchange with relevant partners. At the same time, we benefit from the knowledge transfer within the network – for example, through continuous insights into current funding opportunities, which companies often lack on their own. This is exactly where the events come in: they not only provide space for technical input, but also for gaining visibility, making new contacts, and presenting oneself as an active part of the network. This creates an environment where collaboration, learning, and further development naturally go hand in hand.
Even though we have only recently become part of the network, the kickoff with the „Digitaldialog“ and the opportunity to participate as a speaker is a strong signal of genuine exchange. It is precisely these kinds of formats that lay the foundation for joint appearances within the network, sharing knowledge, and learning from one another.
