Welcome to the 1st Women in Data Science Villach Conference
An independent satellite conference of the annual WiDS Conference at Stanford University
Due to the spread of COVID-19 in Europe, data science enthusiasts couldn’t meet in March for the 1st WiDS Villach conference. Now, we are happy to announce that we found a NEW DATE for WiDS Villach 2020. The conference will take place September 18, 2020.
To ensure that all participants stay safe and healthy, the following measures will be installed:
- One day before the event the conference room will be disinfected
- Disinfectant dispensers will be available at central points
- Only registered participants are allowed to enter the room and each participant will get an assigned seat
- To guarantee enough space between all participants, the number of seats is limited to 90
Women in Data Science [WiDS] started as a conference at Stanford in November 2015. Now, WiDS includes a global conference, with approximately 150+ regional events worldwide; a datathon, encouraging participants to hone their skills using a social impact challenge; and a podcast, featuring leaders in the field talking about their work, their journeys, and lessons learned.
We are proud to bring the global WiDS initiative to Carinthia [Austria] for the very first time!
WiDS aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field.
WiDS Villach is an event organized in cooperation with the initiative AI Carinthia.
All data science enthusiasts are invited to join WiDS Villach on September 18, 2020, at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, to hear about the latest data science related research and applications in a broad set of domains, learn how leading-edge companies are using data science for success, and to connect with the local scene.
