On May 18 and 19, representatives from the European Microelectronics Cluster met at the Silicon Europe Alliance Cluster Forum in Gardanne, France.
This forum was hosted by the French SCS (Secured Communications Solutions) Cluster from Rousset.
On the first day, the staff of the other clusters could participate in guided tours at the Microelectronics Integrated Center of the Provence-Alps-Cote d’Azur Region (CIM PACA), a cooperative research facility, at STMicroelectronics and at Orsay Physics, the world market leader in the field of scanning electron microscopes.
The second day was dedicated to the Alliance. The Turin-based Italian cluster MESAP Innovation Cluster for Smart Products and Manufacturing was accepted in the Silicon Europe Alliance, which now consists of 13 European cluster institutes.
Members of Silicon Europe currently include the Business Cluster Semiconductors Netherlands, DSP Valley (Belgium), FDG & HT Monza-Brianza (Italy), GAIA CLUSTER (Spain), High Tech NL (Netherlands), mi cluster (Greece), MIDAS (SCS Cluster, France), Silicon Saxony (Germany), MESAP (Italy), and Sillicon Alps (France), Minalogic (France), NMI Semiconductors to Systems.
