Smart Systems & Systems Integration

Worldwide, electronic components and systems are seen as key building blocks for a more sustainable and competitive society and economy.  They are based on different components and sub-components that need to be integrated at a higher system level.  Because of the significant regional competences in the Silicon Alpes region, the cluster focus group “’Smart Systems and System Integration” was founded in 2018 and comprises of about 30 experts from science and industry.

The group is divided in sub-teams addressing focal points selected and evaluated annually. In 2021 there have been three teams coping with: Green and sustainable electronics, Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance and Interconnect Technologies at System Integration. Their members regularly met to learn from each other, discuss challenges and use cases, and initiate cooperation with mutual benefit for as many SAC partners as possible.

2021 Topics

Finding the right assembly and interconnection technologies for system integration
Green and Sustainable Electronics Based Systems
Predictive Maintenance: Variety of Approaches and Technologies

We regularly conduct online workshops to explore the innovation potential in these fields, based on concrete use cases and their challenges.

If you are interested to take part in these CFG workshops, please contact oana.mitrea@silicon-alps.at

We are looking forward to the cooperation!

In order to appropriately draw attention to the subject of digitalisation, which is vital to Austria’s position as a business location, and to survive on the global market it is crucial that we join forces. The microelectronic cluster Styria-Carinthia adds momentum to the region of southern Austria, helping to raise competitiveness, increase the attractiveness of the business location, in particular for national and international talent and to strengthen the universities and research facilities.
