About TIER Mobility
TIER Mobility is Europe’s leading provider in the field of micromobility with a mission to change mobility for the better.
The company is a driving force in the transformation of the transport sector, aiming to significantly reduce car traffic in cities. As part of its commitment to sustainability, the company has adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding framework and has established a clear agenda to reduce and offset emissions. As a result of these actions, TIER Mobility has been carbon neutral as a company since January 2020.
TIER Mobility operates in over 90 cities in now 11 countries. The headquarters of the company, which now has over 1000 employees, is in Berlin. The very first city in which the service was offered was Vienna in October 2018; since then, the service in Austria has expanded to include Linz, Wels, Klagenfurt, Villach, Innsbruck and Korneuburg.
TIER works in close cooperation with cities and municipalities and builds on long-term partnerships and technical integrations with, for example, Wiener Linien and ÖBB. The next major step in 2021 will be the roll-out of the Tier Energy Network, a dense, decentralized charging network that will enable uncomplicated, fast charging for different modalities in the future and will already enable customers to replace the batteries of their vehicles themselves. TIER relies on a network of partner companies that want to be part of the network.founders of the company are Lawrence Leuschner, Matthias Laug and Julian Blessin.
TIER’s investors include SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Mubadala Capital, the financial investment arm of Mubadala Investment Company, Northzone, Goodwater Capital, White Star Capital, Novator, RTP Global, and many others. Austrian seed investor SpeedInvest has been with TIER since zero hour.
