Invitation to the meetings of the Silicon Alps Cluster Focus Groups in July 2020

What are the Silicon Alps Cluster Focus Groups (CFGs)?

Silicon Alps cluster focus groups are communities of experts from both research and industry, who share  competences and interests on technological topics that are definitory and strategic for Silicon Alps. They pursue the following objectives:

  • Developing and spreading competences & capabilities, best practices, new knowledge
  • Fostering technological innovation and cooperation in key Silicon Alps technological competence fields
  • Eliciting broad awareness for the key technologies of the region

How do they conduct their activities?

Mainly by means of preparatory  meetings (usually twice a year)  and special events, which content is collaboratively developed by the group members. The purpose of the special cluster focus groups (CFG) events is to support cooperation on focal topics among members  my means of keynotes and group discussions.  To bring together challenges from various application fields and solutions coming from enabling technologies from Silicon Alps we aim at closely work with  application-oriented clusters and organizations.  The event design is usually discussed in operative CFG meetings. In addition, the groups initiate special projects, mainly to promote key Silicon Alps Technology, e.g. RFID movie, Video-demonstrator project, Silicon Alps Smart Systems Prizes .

Benefits for you if you participate:

  • Learning from the experience of fellows
  • Intensive networking over a longer period of time with expert colleagues who share the same interests and competences
  • Impulses and ideas for research and business as a result of technology keynotes or CFG meetings
  • Building of tacit knowledge and increase of mutual support
  • Direct discussions and partner searches for projects
