Dr. Robert GFRERER becomes new CEO of Silicon Alps with December 1, 2021.

Dr. Robert GFRERER will take over the management of the Silicon Alps Cluster starting with December 1st, 2021. Gfrerer has many years of experience as managing director until his recent position as CEO of the build! Start-up center in Klagenfurt, previously as managing director of Ortner Reinraumtechnik GmbH, after having already held a managerial position in a cluster, namely the Human.technolgy Styria GmbH. With his doctorate in electrical and computer engineering, he combines academic knowledge with practical experience from business and industry and therefore stood out among 40 applicants as the ideal candidate for the activities of the Silicon Alps Cluster. His declared focus clearly lies on initiating cooperative projects and strengthening the cooperation culture in the region: “Networks and clusters are the basis for innovations, economic success and the competitiveness of regions and companies. The next months in the cluster will be shaped primarily by project developments relevant to the sector, so I’m particularly looking forward to the new job and, above all, to working with a strong, cross-state team!”, Gfrerer is motivated.

The Silicon Alps Cluster has not only grown rapidly in its early days, but is currently also experiencing strong dynamics from the industry; To be mentioned the major investments by AT&S and Infineon, but also AVL in mobile energy supply. The region was also able to establish itself very well in the network of the major European players in the field of electronic based systems. The cluster’s shareholders now entrust Dr. Robert Gfrerer with the management of Silicon Alps Cluster GmbH in order to further expand the success of the organization and to secure the network through the challenges of the future.

Warm welcome from the federal states Carinthia and Styria

As before, the two interim managing directors Michael Liebminger and Andreas Starzacher will be available to the cluster in their functions within the location agencies SFG and KWF with their advice and support.

DI Dr. Robert GFRERER, MPH übernimmt mit 1. Dezember 2021 die Geschäftsführung der Silicon Alps Cluster GmbH

Gfrerer verfügt über langjährige Erfahrung als Geschäftsführer bis zuletzt des build! Gründerzentrums in Klagenfurt, zuvor als Geschäftsführer der Ortner Reinraumtechnik GmbH, nachdem er bereits 10 Jahre in geschäftsführender Position eines Clusters tätig war, namentlich der Human.technolgy Styria GmbH.

Somit vereint der Telematiker fundiertes akademisches Wissen durch sein Doktorat in Elektrotechnik mit praktischer Erfahrung aus Wirtschaft und Industrie und setzte sich somit unter 40 Bewerberinnen und Bewerbern als idealer Kandidat für die Tätigkeiten des Silicon Alps Clusters durch. Sein deklarierter Fokus liegt ganz klar in der Anbahnung von kooperativen Projekten und der Stärkung der Kooperationskultur in der Region: „Netzwerke und Cluster sind die Basis für Innovationen, wirtschaftlichen Erfolg und die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Regionen und Unternehmen. Die nächste Zeit im Cluster wird vor allem durch branchenrelevante Projektentwicklungen geprägt sein, daher freue ich mich insbesondere auf die neue Tätigkeit und vor allem die Zusammenarbeit mit einem starken, bundesländer-übergreifenden Team!“, zeigt sich Gfrerer motiviert.

Der Silicon Alps Cluster ist in seinem jungen Bestehen nicht nur rasch gewachsen, sondern erfährt derzeit auch eine starke Dynamik aus der Branche; zu nennen sind hierzu die Großinvestitionen von AT&S und Infineon oder auch der AVL in der mobilen Energieversorgung.  Auch im Netzwerk der großen europäischen Player im Bereich der Electronic Based Systems konnte sich die Region bestens etablieren. Die Gesellschafter des Clusters betrauen nun Dr. Robert Gfrerer mit der Geschäftsführung der Silicon Alps Cluster GmbH, um die Erfolge der Organisation weiter auszubauen und das Netzwerk sicher durch die Herausforderung der Zukunft zu spannen.

Zuspruch der Länder

Auch von steirischer Seite bekommt Gfrerer regen Zuspruch: „Der Silicon Alps Cluster erhält mit Robert Gfrerer einen Geschäftsführer, der vielfältige und fundierte Fachkenntnisse mitbringt. Die beiden Interimsgeschäftsführer Ing. Michael Liebminger, MA und DI Andreas Starzacher, werden dem Cluster wie zuvor in ihren Funktionen innerhalb der Standortagenturen SFG und KWF beratend und steuernd zu Verfügung stehen.

Gfrerer wurde bereits am 3. November bei der EBSCON (Electronic Based Systems Conference) im Congress Graz dem Netzwerk und der Öffentlichkeit als neuer Geschäftsführer vorgestellt. Rückblick auf: www.ebscon.eu
