The Silicon Alps Electronic Cluster is a public-private partnership that brings together Austrian players from industry, science and public authorities to develop and position the electronics and microelectronics sector with a regional focus on the locations Carinthia and Styria. The Silicon Alps cluster regards itself as a long-term strategic alliance and a tool for cooperative, efficient and business-oriented location development.
The University of Applied Sciences CAMPUS 02 trains its students to become academic entrepreneurs and to take on specialist and senior management positions for the industry. All degree programmes aim to prepare students to hold key positions in companies and cater for their further development in such roles. Since 2007, the Degree Programme in Information Technologies & Business Informatics has researched systematic development and management of innovative (technical) services.

The IT Community Styria (ITCS) is an association of Styrian companies that combines software development in a dynamic and innovation-driven environment. The ITCS promotes the business location of Styria in close cooperation with educational institutions, politics and business in order to make the region (highly) attractive as a competence center for software development for companies, employees and graduates. The aim of the ITCS is also to raise public awareness of the importance of software as an essential part of digitization. What sets the ITCS apart is an attitude that is particularly concerned with the values of respect, fairness, trust and cooperation.
Since its founding, the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) has developed into a unique educational institution in Carinthia. Students of the CUAS are ensured that their education will be future-oriented through continuous developments of the degree programs offered by the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and the CUAS’s intensive cooperation with industrial and scientific institutions. The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences “lives” by the model of immediate practical relevance. Fulltime and part-time faculty and staff as well as guest lecturers from industry and businesses ensure an interdisciplinary, internationally-oriented tertiary education. Presently, more than 50 bachelor and master degree programs are offered in the areas of health sciences and social work, engineering and IT, civil engineering and architecture as well as business and management.
